Beautifully bred 2yo colt Caesar kicked off his career in promising fashion at Gosford yesterday beating the older horses over 1100m.
Caesar came into the race off the back of two good trial wins at Randwick and Rosehill. He settled just off the speed under jockey Jason Collett and showed a good turn of foot to reel in the runaway leader to win going away with his ears pricked. He is still learning his craft but looks to have plenty of natural ability and an exciting future ahead.
Caesar is by Capitalist out of Not A Single Doubt mare Fimatino making him a half brother to three time stakes winning 2yo Shaquero. He was bred by Bob and Sue Hannon who remain in the ownership and was an $800,000 JHB Colt Partnership purchase from the draft of Attunga Stud at the 2024 Magic Millions Yearling Sale.
Caesar was the second JHB 2yo winner by Capitalist in the space of a week with the speedy Gambler also winning at Hawkesbury last week. Settling in midfield he was taken to the outside by jockey Tommy Berry to finish the race off strongly to make it a win and a second placing from two starts this preparation.
Gambler is out of the stakes placed Stratum mare Flamboyant Lass and is a half brother to stakes placed 2yo Nitrous. He was a $360,000 JHB Colt Partnership purchase from Magic Millions from the draft of Newgate Stud.
Many thanks to the team at Snowden Racing who prepared both horses beautifully and congratulations to their owners.
