God Save The King impressive on debut

We have been patient for imposing King’s Legacy colt God Save The King to mature into his physique, and he demonstrated the ample benefit of that today when running out a most impressive winner at Newcastle on debut.

Settled in front under Winona Costin, God Save The King kicked powerfully at the top of the straight, and maintained a relentless gallop to win going away by a widening two and a half lengths.

God Save The King was purchased for the JHB Colt Partnership at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from the Bhima Thoroughbreds draft, having been bred by Jonathan Munz’s GSA Bloodstock.

A big, strong colt, God Save The King looks the type will continue to improve markedly both as he gains experience, and as the race distances get longer in the coming months.

Thanks go to trainers Adrian Bott and Gai Waterhouse, and many congratulations to owners Belinda Bateman, Tom & Leslie Kennedy, Marc & Lindy de Stoop, Phil & Glenda Mehrten, Rob Love, Gary Diamond, Fergus-Pat Doyle, Pauline Saab, The Northerly Syndicate and Torryburn Stud.
