Given the great results that we have had out of our American broodmare purchases, we were again in action this year, securing a very fast and early 2YO from the Fasig Tipton November Sale.
Lot 224, Youalmosthadme, was secured for US$300,000 from the Elite Race Sales draft, where she was sold on behalf of her owners Resolute Racing.
She was winner of three stakes races as a 2YO. She broke her maiden at Keeneland in April (equivalent to September in the Australian season) over 900m by over eight lengths in great style. She then took on the colts in the Listed Kentucky Juvenile Stakes over 1000m at Churchill Downs, the first 2YO stakes race of the season, where she again dominated by over eight lengths.
She returned to sprinting in the Listed Myrtlewood Stakes over 1200m at Keeneland and was impressive again, winning by seven lengths before rounding out her 2YO season with another Listed win over 1300m at Churchill Downs. She trained on to win another Listed race as a 3YO over 1300m, in addition to placings at Group 2 and Group 3 level.
