Farnan colt Knightsbridge had looked a more finished article this preparation at the trials, and so it proved on his return to racing this weekend at Randwick, where he ran out an impressive winner over 1000m to secure his spot in the $3m Magic Millions 2YO Classic.
He settled beautifully under jockey Adam Hyeronimus, and knuckled down in tremendous style to overhaul speedy leader Thyme to Go to win going away.
Knightsbridge was secured from the Lime Country draft at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale for our Colt Partnership alongside TFI, and is the third 2YO Saturday metropolitan winner from as many starters for this. year’s crop, joining Group 3 Breeders’ Plate winner Incognito, trained by Michael Freedman, and the Chris Waller-trained colt Fireball. He is also the second 2YO to secure a Magic Millions berth this year, with Mystical from our Filly Partnership already safely in the field.
