Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale - JHB Colt Partnership Purchases

The team is back in action at the Gold Coast for the Magic Millions Yearling Sale, with a plethora of quality prospects on offer.

We will once again be partnering with TFI for our purchases, and we will keep this page updated with our colt purchases as they happen.

Lot 54 - Bivouac x Angasi - $200,000

This is a very sharp, precocious looking colt by Bivouac, who we thought was outstanding value at $200,000. Bivouac has already produced the impressive Group 1 Golden Rose winner Beiwacht from his first crop. This colt also comes from a good family, that of the outstanding performer Kermadec. He was secured from Glenbeigh Farm, and prepared by excellent horse people in Denis Griffin and Kerry Stephens.

Lot 58 - Ole Kirk x Antelope - $550,000

This is a strong, forward-looking colt. He’s got a good shape to him, and strides out with nice purpose. He is by Ole Kirk, who has started strongly with his first runners, with an outstanding 8% stakes winners to runners record. This exact cross has already produced a stakes winner - Prestige Forever - while this colt’s dam is also a full-sister to the very precocious and speedy Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes winner Miracles of Life.

Lot 116 - The Autumn Sun x Bollywood - $400,000

This is a powerful colt, with lovely strength and quality. He’s got great substance, and an excellent action to go with it. The Autumn Sun is proving to be a very good stallion, producing a number of top-class fillies, along with Group 1 Caulfield Guineas winner Autumn Boy. This colt also has a good amount of speed running through his pedigree, with Screen and Inquiry being smart sprinters, and this being the further family of Champion 2YO Dracula.

Lot 183 - Snitzel x Complicit - $825,000

This is a quality colt, by Champion sire Snitzel, who continues to be the premier source of 2YO talent in Australia. He’s got great strength, and a nice outlook. He is out of a smart USA mare, whose speed figures translate to an approximate 103 Timeform rating (equivalent to Listed/G3 class in Australia). This is also the exact cross that produced the outstanding Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes winner Switzerland. Blame is proving to be a tremendous broodmare sire, running at 9.7% stakes winners to runners out of his daughters.
